ACADEMIC TERMS (Semester)
The College year has two academic terms or semester. The first semester begins in the first week of July and continue till the end of December, the second semester begins in the first week of January and continues till the end of May. The date of commencement of each term will be intimated through the Calendar of Events.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Formal Application Forms and Prospectus may be obtained from the Office of the Director of Admissions for all undergraduate programs on any working day i.e., from Monday to Thursday between 8.00 am to 5.00 pm and on Sunday & Friday between 8.00 am. to 1.00 pm. The college offices remain closed on all Saturdays. The Application Form and Prospectus will be available on cash payment of Rs. 300,00 (non-refundable). Each new applicant is expected to submit the following original certificates at the time of admissions. :
1. Official Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended
2. Mark sheets /Transcripts for high school and plus two from previous school attended.
3. Character Certificate from the Principal/Headmaster of the school last attended.
4. Medical Fitness Certificate.
Also, the applicant must submit two recent passport-size photographs.The Application Forms should be completed in all respects. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. The college administration after considering each application together with the supporting documents, will notify the applicant of the action taken and issue an Acceptance Letter. No student should proceed to the college without a notice of acceptance from the College President or the Admissions Officer.
ADMISSION
1. Scholastic Requirements : Applicants for college studies are required to present a certificate showing successful completion of the plus-two program with a transfer certificate from the last institution attended. The subjects taken and grades obtained by the applicant may determine the course in which she/he may be admitted. The entrance eligibility is established once the student presents all the original documents. If, due to certain circumstances the student is unable to produce the documents at the time of registration, provisional registration for one semester may be granted by the Academic Policies Committee Such students under provisional admission will neither be issued grade reports nor granted regular status until the original documents are submitted.
2. Health Requirements : Each student must present a certificate of good health from a recognized medical practitioner. Students should know their blood group and disclose any information of allergies and chronic diseases at the time of admission.
3. Character Requirements : Character qualifications are as important as the scholastic requirements. Recommendations regarding character and promise of proper conduct are to be submitted in writing at the time of admission.
EXAMINATIONS
To qualify for the semester exams all student must have an attendance record of at least 75%. A student must be present for all scheduled examinations. The student must carefully note the examination dates. Semester examinations schedules are available to the student free of charge from the Registrar's Office. They are also displayed on the College bulletin boards. A student must be on time for examinations. A student who comes more than twenty minutes after an examination has commenced may be denied admission to the hall and the privilege of writing that examination.
